Bardiya National Park is situated southwestern parts of Nepal 580 km away from Kathmandu to Bardia by bus takes about 12-14 hours.

The park is very popular for Bengal Tiger and bird watching. The park is a protected area in Nepal that was established in 1988 as Royal Bardia National Park which covers an area of 968 km it is the largest national park in Nepal the Karnali River and Babai River flow in the park of Bardia district. Its northern boundary by chure hills. Into the park, the Nepalgunj -Surkhet highway runs. Natural boundaries to human settlements are formed in the west by the Geruwa.

The park is rich in flora 70% of is covered with forest, the ground is a mixture of grassland. 839 species of flora listed with other species of its family. The Bardia National Park is a homeland to Bengal tiger, Rhinoceros, Elephant, swamp deer, wild boar, and birds so these are the main attraction for tourists. In the park there are various faunas about 642 and Karnali –Babai river with some lakes keep 125 species of fish. Ghorail, reptile mugger crocodiles and amphibian are also recorded in the park. There are 407 species of birds found and some unique and very often to see which are Sarus, crane, vulture, parrot, bar-headed geese, Bengal florican, White-rumped, peafowl, golden-headed cisticola, and grassbird.

To access Bardia National Park, daily flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj 55 minute and then drive 2 hours to the park. By land From Kathmandu, buses run to Ambassa on the Nepalgunj- Surkhet highway from Ambassa 30 minute drive to the park.
