The Adventure Annapurna Base Camp trek is a very popular trekking route in the area of the Annapurna region in the middle part of Nepal. It is about a 2-week trek that starts from Naya Pul one hour and a half drive from Pokhara. The trek starts from Naya Pul by direct following Modi Khola to Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The trekking camps are designed on a longer day compared to other camps.

Medium style of the trek offers the best tea house with luxurious lodges and guesthouses in wonderful and charming prosperous villages where inhabitants are mixed of different tribal but dominated by Gurung community who are friendly people show respect in highly good culture.

The village used an uneven path with stone-paved steps leads meandering on through cultivated land terraces. Encountering some charming villages of Syauli Bazaar, Kimche, Jhinu, Chomrong, Ghandruk, Sinuwa and the other more to Annapurna Base camp. In Jhinu, there is a natural hot spring on the bank of the Modi River to enjoy a bath and dip in it. We follow the Modi River from Birethanti skirting on high above the river alongside villages, forests of bamboo, dense rhododendron, maple, and alpine junipers. Annapurna Base camp (4130m) is situated at the bottom of Hiunchuli and Annapurna South on the part of Annapurna Glacier. Every trekker feels endeavors to be put their footsteps on the base camp, which is festooned with colorful prayer flags and numerous cairns.

The Adventure Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts at 1070m sea level to the highest altitude at 4130m at Annapurna Base Camp. Trekking routes are wide and safe run on rice terraced fields stone-paved stairs, pleasant forests, across bridges over rivers. The time of high trekking season lodges and routes are crowded with trekkers. The highlights of doing this trek offer various flora and fauna which differ according to level of altitude. Deep, dark forest, huge green cliffs from the bed of Modi Khola towering to snowcapped peaks, sparkling waterfalls from the mountain down to the river, entice every trekker’s eye. Two popular base camps Machhapuchhare (3700m) and Annapurna (4230m) include in the course of this trek.

Fascinating views of the mountains to watch very closely from MBC and ABC lined up in the triangle direction are Machhapuchhare (6997m) Gandharva Chuli (6248m) Annapurna III (7555m) Gangapurna (7454m) Tharpu Chuli (5695m) Singu Chuli (6501m) Annapurna I (8091m) Fang (7647m) and Hunchuli (6441m). Sunrise and sunset on mountains are delightful views above MBC if the weather is fine. This trek also presents an amazing landscape of the Annapurna glaciers.

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu

When you arrive at Kathmandu International airport then transfers to your hotel. A short briefing is given concerning the trekking itinerary.

Day 02 Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley

This day you will be taken around Kathmandu on tour for Buddhist and Hindu temples and acknowledge of ancient local traditions, besides these, there are many places to explore so are depending on your interest.

Day 03 Kathmandu to Pokhara by Car (max 6hrs)

Kathmandu to Pokhara is by car. Rest at the hotel and visit the market. Pokhara is one of the busiest tourist center and the most beautiful city of Nepal. Mt Fishtail and some parts of the Annapurna range are attractively seen from here. It is both trekking starting and ending point. There are trekking shops, banks, all kinds of standard hotels for tourists. Phewa Lake has joined to the Pokhara city. People enjoy boating, paragliding, golf and horse riding.

Day 04 Pokhara to Shyauli Bazaar (3-4hrs) (1540m)

A car or van leaves you at Naya Pul where the trekking point starts. The road leading to Birethanti where a bridge over Modi Khola (river) just end of the bridge ACAP check post from the post right direction trail to Shyauli Bazaar. we follow along the west bank of the Modi Khola which comes from Annapurna Himalayas. A gravel road through Chimrung village passing rice fields and waterfalls. The flat path consists of shops and tea shops along the trail. The rattling of divergent insects, the soulful chirping of barbets and some grassbirds twitting make the trek enjoyable. In the spring huge trees of cotton trees bloom in red color. We leave the gravel road on the left side then pick up the right side of the trail to Shyauli Bazaar which is on the calm bank of the Modi Khola. Here the lodges and cafes seem quite cosmopolitan.

Day 05 Shyauli Bazaar to Chomrong (2170m)(5-6hrs)

The trail to Chomrong is gently flat on a dusty road amidst villages up to Kimche village. From the Kimche we head to the north following along the bank of the Modi Khola. The sounds from the river, walking in the pleasant peaceful forest and tweeting birds on the trees, huge rocks on them hanging wild bees hive make hiking amusing. when the forest sector ends to Newbridge is also a joining trail between Syauli Bazaar and Landruk. Three lodges hang along the trail. Above the lodges forest and bamboo bushes to Kimrong Khola (river). An attractive long suspension bridge is used to cross the river to Jhinu Danda (1750m) has some comfortable lodges. From Jhinu Danda 20 minutes walk down through a forest at the bank of Modi Khola where there are two hot spring ponds with cement bathing pools. Hot water naturally comes out from the ground. Pick up Jhinu Danda trail to Chomrong one of the very steeply climbing paths joinsTaglung this place is a meeting point of the main Ghandruk Chhomrong route. we escort Chomrong trail just about 5 minutes to be at Chomrong is a beautiful settlement Gurung ethnic. The village exhibits an excellent view of Hiunchuli (6441m).

Day 06 Chhomrong to Dobhan (2310m(5 -6hrs)

After breakfast, we stepping down on a stone staircase through the village, forest, and bamboo bush to Chhomrong Khola, and then a suspension bridge is crossed. The trail climbs up to Sinuwa (2460m) where there are two lodges. The path scales gently through a forest of rhododendron, bamboo bushes. while walking from place to place for rest and viewpoints. From Kuldhighar we hike down to Bamboo village (2310m) which has 4 lodges with neat and clean rooms. Heading ahead Bamboo the route enters the forest and bamboo bushes. It is possible to see Langur big white hairy-faced monkey jumping and hanging on trees. Finally, You reach Dobhan (2600m) means ‘confluence’ where 4 lodges are run by local people.

Day 07 Dobhan to MBC (3700m)(5-6hrs)

Beyond Dobhan the trail leads through standing and lurching bamboo and forests. Dobhan to Himalaya (2920m) distance is about 1:30minutes. From Himalaya, it’s about a 1-hour walk to Deurali. A rocky trail through forests then up a steep ravine to Hinku Cave which is a huge hanging rock. Snowtime the tail is glacier causes difficult to walk. In Deurali 4 lodges are comfortable and common rooms busy with trekkers. The trail between Deurali and Machhapuchhare is a dangerous avalanche area. The trail diverts northeast along Modi Khola. A few minutes walking ahead a flat grassy land meets Bagar. From Bagar climb across avalanche path through forests of birch and bamboo. A stone staircase that leads you to MBC has cozy and comfortable 4 lodges run by Gurung people. The mountain views of Machhapuchhare, Gnagapurna (7454m), Annapurna iii(7555m), Annapurna I, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Day 08  MBC to ABC to Bamboo (3720m)(2, 6hrs)

Early in the morning, we hike to ABC which takes two hours. The trail is a pleasant walk on a grassy route if there is no snow. The trail follows up a stream. The base camp exhibits panorama views of Annapurna, Mapchhapuchhare, Annapurna South, Singu Chuli (6501m), Tent Peak (5695m), and Bhartha Chuli (fang) (7647m). The Base Camp is just the left side of Annapurna South Glacier. In the morning excellent sunrise on Annapurna I and the surrounding mountains. After all the views activities, we have breakfast at ABC. Reverse down to MBC. Packing our things, return back the trail to  Bamboo.

Day 09 Bamboo to Gurjung to (1800m)(6hrs)

Reverse back the trail to Sinuwa, Chomrong and to Talung. Two places climbing up at Bamboo to Kuldhighar and another is to Chomrong village. Talung splits way to Jhinu and Ghandruk Tadapani. We follow the Ghandruk Tadapani way through millet and wheat fields, school, villages and forest flat path to Gurjung village. Monkeys are possible to see chattering on the rees among themselves and nice to see jumping one tree to another tree. A flock of sheep is grazing and bleating on the trailside forests. The south direction is impressive Kimrong valley view.

Day 10 Gurjung to Ghandruk (1840m)(6hrs) 

The Ghandruk trail is easy wide gally passing through villages and forests and streams. Annapurna mountain range views are perfect shining to the east. An old and short suspension bridge is crossed just before Gurjung. As we descend to Kirmrong Khola a wide and new bridge is crossed then a flat opened local gally enters into the sparse forest to Kimrong Danda( hill). Kimrong Danda which is good for a rest. From Kimrong Danda the trail descends to Kyuri Khola on it a bridge to cross. 10 minutes distance you meet Ghorepani –Ghandruk highway trail. Turn east then follow the northeast end of Ghandruk. To reach the center of the village is almost 10 -15 minutes. Ghandruk village is pretty and worth to visit local museums, a small Buddist monastery, a Helipad to view Landruk side and valley views. Mountain views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhare are delightful.

Day 11 Ghandruk to Pokhara via Nayapul (2170m)( 5-6hrs)

The Naya Pul trail heads to the south from Ghandruk on a stone-paved path. Walking down and crossing stream reaches Kimche village through hill down to Syauli Bazaar at the bank of Modi Khola. Here the lodges and cafes seem quite cosmopolitan. From Syauli Bazaar walking is flat along the road. The route continues river valley to Chirmrong and finally Birethanti. Its 30 minutes walk to Naya Pul. From Naya Pul a car or a van drive you to Pokhara.
