Khopra Danda Trek route is less known and newly opened in the area of Annapurna region in the central part of Nepal. The walking elevation starts from Nayapul (1070m) to Khopra Danda (ridge) (3660m). This trekking route offers one of the best mountain views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri ranges and explores to see hearth breathing landscapes.
The duration of the trek is 13 days. To access the Khopra trek fly or drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara then about one hour and a half drive by car to Nayapul which is a starting and ending point of the trek. 45 minutes further walking, we reach Birethanti where there are ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project and area permits (TIMS) are checked. Birethanti is a trekking intersection for Poon Hill and direct short days to Annapurna Base Camp. During the trek, some pleasant ethnic villages of Gurung and Magar are Syauli Bazaar, Kimche, Ghandruk, Tadapani, Swanta, Ghorepani, Ulleri, Hile and Sudame. These villages offer traditional and exotic houses of Gurung and Magar. The ethnics are very popular in the British Gurkhas soldier. They are very friendly people who respect deeply in culture.
The trails are easy and agreeable which run on farming terraces, paved stone steps, on suspension bridges, into the thick forest of rhododendron, ridges, Mountain Viewpoints, and mountain bamboo bush, and alpine junipers.The trails exhibits some beautiful landscape of agriculture fields, attractive valley views, barren hills, various flora and faunas, sounding of waterfalls, crystalline streams. Luxurious and tidy lodges include a continental nice menu with tidy rooms serve you along the trail in every camp place but in Dobato, Chistung and Khopra Danda are exceptional. The time of high trekking season lodges and routes are crowded with trekkers.
The rattling of divergent insects, the soulful chirping of barbet and some grassbirds twitting make the trek enjoyable. In the spring above 2000m forest are bloomy with various colors of rhododendron and with magnolia. The area of Sudame and Syauli Bazaar attract you with bloomy of a cotton forest at the beginning of the spring season.
This trekking route offers magnificent viewpoints and ridges. Muldey, Khopra Danda and Poon Hill which offer panorama views of Mt Dhaulagiri (8172m), Mt Annapurna I (8071m), Mt Annapurna South (7219m), Himchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhare ( 6997m) and Nilgiris. Fascinating views of the mountains to watch very closely from Muldey and Khopra Danda, mountain views can be seen in the form of lined up surrounded by Annapurna I ( 8091m), Machhapuchhare (6997m), Gandharva Chuli, (6248m), Annapurna iii (7555m), Gangapurna (7454m) and Hiunchuli (6441m). Sunrise and sunset on mountains are fascinating views from Muldey, Khopra Danda and Poon Hill.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, our company representative picks you up and transfers you to the hotel. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara by private car
Day 04: Pokhara to Birethanti by Car then walk to Ghandruk (1940m)(5hrs)
As we arrive in Birethanti where we registered our Trekking Information Management Service (TIMS) and Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). Birethanti is an entry and exit tourist checking point place where Modi River and Bhurundi Khola (river) meeting point (confluence). We walk right side along the Modi Khola on a flat trail up to Syauli Bazaar. We meet local people Gurung, Brahmins and other ethnics and nice to see rice fields, on the way, the rattling of divergent insects, the soulful chirping of barbets and some grass birds twitting make the trek enjoyable. From Syauli Bazaar the trail climbs up through zigzagging rice terrace villages on stone steps. Annapurna South (7219m) and Machhapuchhare (6993m) two mountains appear in magnificent views. We reach Ghandruk village of Gurung community. It is a popular, beautiful and touristic place.
Day 05: Ghandruk to Tadapani (2680m) (4hrs)
The trail to Tadapani sets off above the Ghandruk on very nice stone steps. We walk on through a pleasant forest of various trees, bamboos and rhododendron lead ahead climbing up. While walking, keep your eyes you can see monkey (langur) which have white and long hair on the face. Chirping birds, calm in the forest, sound from waterfall, streams and green grass on the trailside make the trekking very interesting. As we go higher and higher the view of Machhapuchhare and Annapurnasouth appear in more beautiful shape. Steep climbing up the trail reaches at Bhaisi Kharka surrounded by forest where there are three lodges along the trail. Bhaisi Kharka to Tadapani is about one hour walking up through an attractive and thick forest of rhododendron. Finally, Tadapani arrives on a ridge. Tadapani is also a viewpoint for Annapursouth, Machhapuchhare, and some other mountain. It is a big village which has more than a dozen lodges. The village is surrounded by rhododendron forest.
Day 06: Tadapani to Dobato (3435m) (5hrs)
We ascent about 755m follow up the trail, leaving behind Tadapani and enters to a very dense and charming forest of rhododendron, tall pine trees with bushy moss. Very few trekkers are seen on the path comparatively Ghorapni and ABC trek. Annapurna Mountain range lying down to the north and beautiful valley views to the south are inexpressible on words. Impressive and massive view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8172m) can be viewed in the west direction. Green forest line, grassy land and dark rocks above it white snow scenery close to the eyes pictures accomplish day trek is definitely in the breathtaking moment. Views from the ridge are amazing. Continue ascent while two small passes are passed then to Dobato where there are 3 lodges to serve food, room, and hot drinks.
Day 07: Rest day in Dobato
Day 08: Dobato to Chistibung (3030m) (max.4hrs)
Today we hike less 30 minutes to Muldey viewpoint which offers one of the best panorama views of mountains and valley views. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri massifs and Machhapuchhre mountains view are fascinating. The trail to Chistung descends through a forest of rhododendron then reaches Bayeli.. Continue walking through forest and meadows finally Chistungs where there are two lodges.
Day 09: Chistibung to Khopra Danda (3660m) (5-6hrs)
We walk slowly step by step on the agreeable up and down a path which leads to the destination Khopra Danda. We follow the pastureland where trekkers can see mountain goats and Danphe Himalayan bird. Finally walking up to we reach on a ridge is Khopra Danda is a destination point. From here we can view the spectacular view of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna whole range, Machhapuchhare with some other snowcapped peaks. The sunset and sunrise provide breathtaking scenery.
Day 10: Khopra Danda to Swanta (2225m)(5 hrs)
From the beginning of the trek always climbing up but today, the trail descends steeply passing lovely forest, bushes of mountain bamboo. It is also a chance to observe flora and fauna. As we past the forest then we arrive in a small and beautiful village of Magar community Swanta is one of the prosperous villages of Nepal. It is ideal to stay at night. Neat and clean lodges provide food, room, and hot drinks. Swanta is a beautiful village inhabited by Magar people.
Day 11: Trek from Swanta to Ghorepani (2850m)(3hrs)
The trail to Ghorepani leads through terraced fields to a small stream where there is tradition watermill. .Almost flat trail crossing a suspension bridge enter to a forest area until we reach Chitre village where Tatopani trail joins. A big and wide path leads through rhododendron forest while we meet tourists and local people walking up and down. 15 minutes below Ghorepani on the way there is a yellow color gate on which there is written Welcome to Ghorepani. By following stone steps stairs, we finally reach Ghorepani 'means " horse water". Lower Ghorpani and upper Ghorepani both together there are more than 2 dozen lodges and few shops People prefer to stay in the upper reason is nice views of mountains and valley villages. Ethics of this area are Magar.
Day 12: Ghorepani to Pokhara via Naya Pul (6-7hrs)
Early morning hiking to Poon Hill to see the sunrise and panorama views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalaya ranges. Most people reach Poon Hill before sunrise. From Ghorepani, it takes 1 hour climbing up Poon Hill. Poon Hill is a panorama viewpoint to see Mt Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak (6848m), Nilgiris and to Annapurna 1, Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna South (7219m) and Machhapuchhare (6997m). On top of Poon Hill stands Poon hill Tower just nearby a tea shop serves your hot drinks for local business. Back down to the lodge after breakfast a long day of descending to Naya Pul. The trail heads to forest area max 2 hrs then stone staircase path Ullery village (2000m). From here a steep down to Bhurungdi Khola to cross it a suspension bridge and another a bridge on Tikhedhunga Khola. 10 minutes walking up Tikhedunga arrives further 15minutes to Hile village (1430m). The trekking trail finishes in Hile to Nayapul about 3 hrs walking down along the gravel road through Sudame village. From Naya Pul a car or a van drive you to Pokhara.
