Langtang Gosaikunda trek is one of the closest trek and well-known north of Kathmandu to explore the Himalayas.

The Langtang trek starts from Syabru Beshi(1470m) after 8 to 9 hrs drive from Kathmandu.  The buses leave from Kathmandu to Shyabru Beshi from where a road connects to Tibet China. This trekking region offers dense of forests, valleys, Nepali villages snow-capped mountains and glaciers. The trek encounters rice fields, Tamang and Lama People. Lamas are similar to Tibetan. There is no difference between Tibetan and Lamas.

The route starts from (1470m) and climbs through various forests of subtropical, oak, rhododendron, maple and pine, pastoral yaks and eventually to Kyanjin Gompa at (3870m). From this point views of mountains Langtang ii (6596m), Langtang Lirung (7227m) Changbu (6251m) and, Kingshung (6781m), Langtang Yubra (6048m), Youbra (6264m), Naya Kanga (5844m) and  Ganchempo( 6387m) Dorje Lakpa (6966m)  are wonderful. And views of glaciers are Langtang Lirung, Tabo Glacier, and Langtang Glacier. Where you get an opportunity to ascend Kyangjin Ri [4350m. During the trek walking in a narrow valley between two Himalayas ranges which join to Tibet China. The trails are easy but due to the landslides sweep down in some places well known.  We continue hiking up 4 days to Kyanjin pass through the beautiful alpine valley. we rest at Kyangjin for a day to have a look exploration of the high mountains and glacial forms. Another charm of this trek is to observe Hindus and Buddhist sacred Gosaikunda lake. we enter to Helambu region with different Sherpa culture. Our trek offers fascinating views of Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa and Nayakonga, etc.

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu

When you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport then transfer to your hotel. A short briefing is given concerning your trekking itinerary. On this day whether you want to rest or visit Kathmandu city.

Day 02 Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley

This day you will be taken around Kathmandu on tour of Buddhist and Hindu temples and acknowledge of ancient local traditions, besides these, there are many places to explore so are depending on your interest.

Day 03 Drive to Shyabru Besi by bus (1460m) (max 7-8hrs)

We start in the morning to Syabru Besi after breakfast. The bus takes us through forests, villages, rice fields crossing many small rivers the road up and down to villages at 1940m high Dhunche is district headquarter of Langtang a tourist checkpoint there. From Dhunche the road is almost down to Shyabru Besi from where a road links to Tibet China. Shyabru Besi is a small business local center situated between bottom of huge hills at the bank of Bhote Kosi river. Good guest houses and banking facilities are in this town.

Day 04 Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2478m) (6hrs)

We cross the Bhote Kosi River by a suspension bridge. Not only, this one, but we also cross the suspension bridge on Langtang river. This river is followed upwards climbing up Doman(1680m) continue to the rocky area then we arrive at Landslide Lodge and Hot Spring Restaurant. Opposite the river different forms of the cliff in versatile can be seen. We cross the Langtang Khola by a new suspension bridge. On the side of the river, We see the drier and sparse forest. We go ahead steeply but the most difficult trail. Ascending and descending trails we arrive at Lama Hotel.

Day 05 Lama Hotel to Langtang (3430m) (5hrs)

Today’s trek is steeper through a forest of maples, oaks, rhododendron, and Hemlock while our journey. We can see vies of Langtang Lirung(7246m). One hour’s distance in the forest at Gumon Chock(2800m) there is two lodges. A little bit climbing up we reach Ghora Tabela where Nepal Army post and a national park checkpoint following rugged trail lunch at Thangshyap. A village of Tamang appears. They grow buckwheat, potato, wheat, and turnips.

Day 06 Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3872m) (4hrs)

Today trek continues through the village of Langtang Pass to many Monies made of stones and mud to please God. A distance climbing up we arrive small villages named Mumduand Sindum. Following the trail, through yak pastures, we have to cross Langtang river joins with large. We can see views of Langtang Kishung(6780m) reach before lunchtime. If you want to have good views points Kyajin Ri (4371m) is two hours climb up. This is a vies points from where we apparently view of mountain ranges, Langshisha Ri (6379m) Gang Chherpo(6388m) Dorje Lakpa(6966m)

Day 07  Hiking to Kyanjin Ri (4773m)

On this day, we climb up to Kyanjin Ri (4773m) if those who are able to hike. It takes two hours to be on top. The trail is very steep, slippery and winding up in shape. Above the Kyanjin Ri lands are completely in barren but tiny grasses. On the top of Kyanjin Ri, there is windy and of course, unexpectedly cold but close breathtaking views of surrounding mountains are Langtang Lirung (7727m), Changbu (6251m), (6781m), Yubra (6264m), Langshisa (6560m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Gangchemp (6378m) and many more. Exploring the Himalayas with full of satisfying, we descend to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 08 Kynjing Gompa to Lama Hotel (2475m) (5hrs)

Today our trek reverses to Lama Hotel. The way is descending more than 1400 meters back to Lama Hotel where we spend a night. Day 08 Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2265m) (5hrs) We follow the same route which leads us to the Lands Slide lodge from where we catch the next upper trail to Thulo Syabru. On the way to Thulo Syabru, we pass Ukyang on the ridge. Thulo Syabru is attractive with its elaborate carved windows.

Day 09 Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2250m) (5-6hrs)

We follow back the trail drops along the banks of Lantang Khola (river) passes through bamboo bushes pleasant forests to see various of birds, monkeys and digging holes by wild boars. Continue trailing the path passes through Bamboo and Pairo to a gentle walking reaches the main path splitting point on the right and left. we follow the left side up to Thulo Shyabru is worthful to see preserved  Tamang culture, custom, day to day life. Ganesh Himal and Lantang Himal ranges appear clearly from here. 

Day 10 Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3331m) (4hrs)

On this day’s our trek is passing schools, gompas and army post. The route is a steep hill to Dursang (2661m). The trail is less steep now through the forest of hemlock, oaks followed up the ridge and our lunch is at Foprang Danda. The trail crosses many the head of a valley and we arrive at Sing Gompa

Day 11 Sing Gompa to Laurebina Yak (3920m) (4hrs)

Today’s our trek trail is steep up the ridge. In this area is a sanctuary for red pandas and cat bear. We trek through deep forest and ridge before reaching Chalang Pati. From this place, the trail enters the Gosaikunda protected areas are prohibited to kill animals, lighting firewood, etc. When we trek down then we can see of spectacular views of Langtang Valley and Langtang Lirung, We arrive in Laurebina Yak where we have acclimatization. Morning views of the Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Lirung are apparently and prominently seen.

Day 12 Laurebina Yak to Gosaikunda (4460) (3hrs)

Our trek starts by climbing ridges and we see the first about 4200 meters. Our trail separates the ridges and heads to the Trishuli village. We can see the second view of a lake called Bhairab Kund. Similarly, the largest lake Gosaikunda the lake has a black rock in the middle believed by Hindu is head of Shiva. It is said that Shiva created the lake to quench his thirst after consuming poison. Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims devotedly worship this lake where take bath in full moon in August.

Day 13 Gosaikunda to Ghopte (3440m) (6hrs)

Our trek through the rugged area still passing other three small lakes towards Laurebina La Pass (4610m) it is a good view pass. The trail which we follow is descending alongside a stream both side alpine forest area. Trek is continuing descending over rugged and we have lunch at Phedi (3740m). we spend a night at Ghopte.

Day 14 Ghopte to Tharepati (3645m) (4hrs)

Today our trek continues up. From the itinerary, we can see some views of villages among them famous one of them is Helambu which is inhabited Sherpa. We can reach at Ghopte in the afternoon where we relax.

Day 15 Tharepati to Gul Bhanjyang (2500m) (6hrs)

The trail is through the alpine area with the growing field. Entering the forest and follow the ridges by descending. On the way to Gul Bhanjyang approach, Mere Danda at 3515 meters from here the trail proceeds to the forest of rhododendron. Before arriving Gul Bhanjyang Kutumsang encounters.

Day 16 Gul Bhanjyang to Chhisopani (2195m) (5hrs)

Today’s our journey starts by descending to a forested ridge. We cross a hill Jhogin danda and two villages. Thodang Betini and Chipling .The trek follows up through meadows, fields, and streams. After 5 hours on foot finally, we arrive at the Chisopani destination.

Day 17 Chisopani to Kathmandu (4hrs)

Our final trekking day, today starting by climbing up at the Boriang Bhanjyang is the last pass of our Langtang trek. From here we follow descended trail to Mulkharka Tamang village. Mulkharka to Sundarijal where drinking water is supplied in Kathmandu besides it local transportations are available to Kathmandu.

Day 18 Depart from Kathmandu

You are assisted to reach at the airport by our staff. You have to reach at the airport before three hours of your plane leaving
